Mount Dennis grew up around Kodak Heights, the Eastman Kodak plant that manufactured photographic film here from 1913 until it closed in 2005. In November 2025 the neighbourhood got its transit back — GO, UP Express and TTC at Mount Dennis Station, with the Line 5 Crosstown following in February 2026 — and the station entrance is the restored Kodak Building 9, the last surviving structure of the film plant. In the same neighbourhood, a former Cooper Canada factory is making things again.
